Ryan Schaar

Chief Executive Officer

Our Chief Executive Officer, Ryan Schaar, runs the day-to-day business of Amply Media. Prior to joining Amply, Ryan developed his analytical and leadership skills at Mckinsey and Co and Koch Industries. He brings these talents to Amply Media to drive a data-driven culture based on testing and experimentation. In 2017, he was singled out as one of Kansas City’s Forty under 40 Business Leaders by Ingram’s magazine.

Ryan graduated Summa Cum Laude from Wichita State University and holds an MBA from the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business at Depaul University where he studied finance and strategy.

Lance Hemenway

Chief Creative Officer

Acting as our Chief Creative Officer, Lance manages Amply Media’s marketing function as well as the team that generates websites and content for our growing digital network. Before joining our team, Lance was involved in the founding and promotion of some of the highest trafficked web properties in the world. He was a founding team member of Intermix Media, the parent company of MySpace, which sold to News Corp for $580 million in 2005.

Lance was a founding board member of Think Big Kansas City and is currently serving on the board of the Bureau of Internet Accessibility, an organization that strives to make the internet accessible to those with disabilities.

Kate Brock

Director of Strategic Partnerships

Kate has eleven years of experience in Account Management and Client Services and another seven years’ experience managing teams consisting of analysts, campaign managers, account managers, and coordinators. In charge of building and growing all strategic partners and client relationships, Kate comes in clutch when urgent advertiser dilemmas arise, and someone needs to think “on their feet” with solutions that are optimal for both the client and the company.

Kate is the leader of our “Culture Club,” which plans all of our amazing activities, happy hours and parties. (We all love Kate.)

Jesse Overright

Director of Engineering

As our head of engineering, Jesse leads the development of Amply Media’s technology roadmap, core products, and engineering infrastructure. His teams are responsible for product development, website design, performance optimization, and internal tools. Before joining Amply Media, Jesse was a software engineer and software engineering leader at various companies in Kansas City and Austin, TX. He brings over ten years of technology experience in building mission-critical, internet scale web applications.

Jesse lives in Kansas City with his wife and two young daughters.

Matt Bulmash

Content Studio Leader

Originally starting as a Finance Manager at Amply Media, Matt has found his way into leading the news vertical. With more than eight years’ experience across Finance and Analytics, Matt helped pioneer the Content Studio blueprint that has driven Amply’s rapid growth over the past two years. When he’s not overanalyzing data, you can typically find him on the golf course, somewhere near Amply’s beer fridge, or antagonizing Lance.

Alyssa Guenther

Content Studio Leader

Alyssa is our “Analytics Hero” and has been key in building the data-driven culture at Amply, where she currently manages our network of weather related websites. With over six years of experience, Alyssa has a keen eye for potential revenue pitfalls and using data to solve problems. She also helped lead the adoption of Tableau across the company and is frequently lost for days in endless rabbit holes of data sources and SQL.

In her free time, you can find her at Chipotle sharing a guac with her husband and two beautiful daughters.

Andi Hubbard

Content Studio Leader

As a 12-year veteran of data analytics, product development and account management, Andi heads up Amply Media’s growing network of inspirational websites. Andi’s background of managing teams of engineers and business analysts has enabled her to create a proven formula of growing website traffic while being able to successfully monetize it. With a background in technology and product strategy, Andi provides strategic oversight around user acquisition and strategy roadmap.

Ryan Irwin

Content Studio Leader

As our content studio leader in charge of our “deals” vertical, Ryan is responsible for driving traffic to our websites pertaining to coupons, deals and other destinations for the smart and savvy shopper. Before coming aboard, Ryan worked in various agencies around Kansas City in media buying, brand and affiliate management, and data analytics leadership roles. He brings over 10 years of experience in online and offline marketing, leadership, and growth planning to the team.

Ryan lives in Kansas City with his wife and two children. He spends his weekends touring renaissance festivals and rock clubs as part of an award-winning pirate band, The Musical Blades.

Kristin LaBatt

Content Studio Leader

One of the very first (and very best) Amply Media employees, Kristin manages “jobs / employment” websites here at Amply Media. Armed with over 10 years of content monetization experience, Kristin’s team works closely with multiple online employment agencies, helping both those looking for employment as well as companies looking to bring on high-quality talent.

When Kristin isn’t at work, she’s cleaning up after her husband and two wonderful children.

Michael Storey

Content Studio Leader

The leader of Amply Media’s horoscope and entertainment sites, Michael Storey specializes in user acquisition within social media and content recommendation platforms. Previously working in dynamic media monetization and direct response marketing, he applying his experience to increase scale on a variety of properties while also expanding our user acquisition channels to new real-time bidding platforms.
